Names
STATS Group appointed Andy Norrie as head of Sales and Business Development for Europe. Since joining U.K.-based STATS in 2011, he has led the expansion of STATS presence in North America where he was Regional Business Development Manager for Canada.
Engineering and field construction company BCCK appointed Divyam Mandalia as director of business development, renewables. He will be based in The Woodlands, Texas, and will be responsible for managing existing and new customers while assessing opportunities to expand in the renewables market.
Levare Chief Operation Officer Irina Boeva has retired, and her role will be filled by Kyle Chapman, executive vice president, global operations. Additionally, Ondrej Markovic has been hired to serve as executive vice president, Manufacturing, Procurement and Logistics.
Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP announced Thomas J. McCaffrey joined the Firm as a partner in the Corporate & Financial Services Department and Private Equity practice group. Based in Houston, his areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions and private equity investments in the energy sector.
Franklin Electric Co., Inc. appointed Joe Ruzynski as chief executive officer and a member of its board, effective July 1. Gregg Sengstack, who has served as CEO since 2014 and chairperson since 2015, will continue as executive chair. Ruzynski, 49, joins Franklin Electric from nVent Electric plc, an electrical connection and protection company, where he had served as president of the Enclosures Segment since 2018.

Mary Andringa, the chair emerita of Vermeer Corporation, has been inducted into the notable Horizontal Directional Drilling Association (HDDA) Hall of Fame Class of 2024. This honor acknowledges pioneering work and significant contributions to directional drilling.
Centurion Group, a rental equipment and supply company, proposed a sale of its legacy construction business, Centurion Canada Infrastructure, formerly SITE Resource Group (SITE), to the Hillcore Group. Centurion called the proposal a continuation of its strategy to focus on expanding and developing its core rentals and services offering across a diverse range of customers in the energy, renewables, infrastructure, government and industrial markets.

The American Petroleum Institute (API) announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Brazilian Petroleum and Gas Institute (Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo e Gás – IBP). This agreement formalizes an important alliance aimed at strengthening collaboration and technical exchanges between both organizations and our members.
The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) selected Eugene B. Caldona, , assistant professor in the Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials at North Dakota State University, as the distinguished recipient of the 2024 Dr. A. John Sedriks Seed Grant. His proposal, “Surface-Functionalized Ground Tire Rubber Additives for Isotropically Adhesive and Cohesive Dielectric Fluoropolymer Protective Coatings,” was called “innovative in spirit and research excellence” by the Association.
Obituary
Melvin Stahl, founder and CEO of Bedford Reinforced Plastics, died May 22, at the age of 88. Stahl started the fiberglass-reinforced plastics manufacturing company in 1974. His passing comes as the company marks 50 years of business.
Under Stahl’s leadership, the expanded from a small barn in rural Bedford County, Pennsylvania, with a dozen employees, to a full-service supplier of fiberglass-reinforced polymer products to a global market. Today, the family-owned company has more than 200 employees and 200,000 square feet of manufacturing and fabrication space at two facilities.
Stahl was raised in Bedford, Pennsylvania. He attended Bedford High School before enlisting in the United States Army in 1956.
Stahl leaves his wife of 65 years, Carin; a sister; Eileen (Joe); two sons, Brian and Allen; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, along with the entire Bedford Reinforced Plastics family.
