Ras TanuraRiyadh Pipeline contract awarded

(4/9/2009, Pipeline Asia)Saudi Aramco has awarded a contract to Nacap-Suedrohrbau to construct a 506 km, 30 inch diameter multi-product pipeline from refineries in Ras Tanura to Riyadh in central Saudi Arabia.

The Ras Tanura – Riyadh pipeline will transport diesel and kerosene from the Ras Tanura refinery, located on the country’s east coast, to Dhahran, Al-Hasa and finally Riyadh, local news sources have said.

Under the contract Nacap-Suedrohrbau will also install three pump stations, metering systems, substation buildings and maintenance.

During the initial phase, the Saudi Aramco and Nacap-Suedrohrbau joint venture management team will develop the front-end engineering and design.

Nacap-Suedrohrbau will then complete the project design, material procurement, construction and commissioning activities for the project, which is expected to be completed by December 2011.
