Subsea 7 Wins Petrobras Contract
Subsea 7 Inc. was awarded an engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) contract valued at US $250 million by Petrobras for the Roncador field, offshore Brazil.
The workscope is to engineer, procure, fabricate, install and commission one 12-inch, 23-mile gas export line and one 12-inch, 26-mile oil export line, connecting the P-55 platform to the PRA-1 platform. The job includes procurement and installation of associated subsea equipment.
The offshore pipelines and equipment installation campaign will take place next year and the second quarter of 2011. Engineering and project management work will be at Subsea 7´s offices in Rio de Janeiro and the fabrication of the rigid pipelines will be carried out at Subsea 7´s pipeline fabrication spoolbase at Ubu, Brazil. The Roncador field is located in the Campos Basin off the coast of Rio in depths of 200-1,800 meters.
In other news, Industrial Perforadora de Campeche, S.A. de C. V. (IPC) has contracted with Subsea 7 Inc. through its i-Tech division for a five-year ROV contract onboard the ultra-deepwater semi-submersible, La Muralla III. The contract is valued in excess of US$10 millon.
i-Tech will supply an advanced 3,000-meter rated work-class ROV system and provide IPC with ROV operations, maintenance and management services. Offshore operations are scheduled for late 2010.
