Kurdistan Ready To Ship Crude To Turkey

Kurdistan said that crude oil exports will start shortly from the Tawke Field, following the completion of the tie-in of the field pipeline with the Iraq–Turkey pipeline at the border town of Fishkhabur.

Exports will begin at 60,000 bpdd. An additional 40,000 bpd of oil will be trucked from the Taq-Taq field to the newly installed temporary loading and unloading facilities at the Khurmala Station, located in southwest Erbil, until a pipeline is laid to connect the field and the station. From there the oil will be transported through the existing pipeline networks to the Iraq–Turkey pipeline.

The Iraq–Turkey pipeline transports oil from fields around Kirkuk, Iraq, to the Mediterranean port of Yumurtalik in Turkey. It comprises two parallel 941-km pipelines with a total capacity of 14 MMbbl of oil. The pipelines are jointly operated by Iraq and Turkey’s respective national oil companies.
