South Korea, Russia Discuss Pipeline Across North Korea
The possibility of laying a natural gas pipeline across North Korea will be discussed next month when South Korean officials visit Moscow shortly.
The countries hope to pump natural gas from Russia’s Far East to South Korea via North Korea. All economic projects between the two Koreas are now frozen.
Russia is set to supply 750 t/a of natural gas to South Korea for 30 years, meeting 20% of Korean demand. The proposed pipeline would exceed 3,000 km.
