Kinder Morgan Energy Partners has acquired the assets of Gas-Chill, Inc., a company that manufactures and provides small mechanical refrigeration units (MRUs) for natural gas liquids recovery. The $13 million acquisition allows Kinder Morgan Treating, a subsidiary of KMP, to quickly transport and install MRUs that enable customers to remove natural gas liquids from natural gas streams to meet pipeline hydrocarbon dew point specifications.

UniversalPegasus International recently hosted an open house luncheon and ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of its onshore Marcellus Shale office in Canonsburg, PA. UniversalPegasus’ CEO John Jameson and Moe Barnes, Onshore Division COO, welcomed the group along with Business Development Manager Ken Sullivan and Director of Midstream Services Troney Langston.

Ziff Energy Group has been selected by Shell International to benchmark the operations of its worldwide upstream assets. Ziff Energy will assess, for each Shell-operated asset, detailed operating cost metrics and a family of uptime reliability metrics. The benchmarking of Shell assets will take place over a three-year period.

The Bureau Veritas has completed the acquisition of the inspection and testing organization, Inspectorate. With its North American headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the Bureau Veritas presence stretches across 140 countries. The acquisition allows the company to expand its North American capabilities, further extending its long-standing inspection and regulatory testing expertise within the oil and gas industry.

Acculloy Manufacturing Solutions has begun operations at PerformaCoat, Inc., a new division performing advanced protective and lubricating coating services for oilfield tool, machined component, assembly, mold and fabrications manufacturers in the Gulf Coast-area. The PerformaCoat operation is housed in a 12,000-square-foot plant at 14014 East Hardy Road in Houston, TX.

Ashtead Technology recently named Dubai-based Emphor FZCO as its Middle East agent. Emphor will provide Ashtead’s full equipment rental fleet to customers in the region. A calibration facility, technical workshop and support facilities, as well as a training center will also be provided from the Emphor facilities.

MS Energy Services™ has opened a regional service center in West Alexander, PA to replace a center previously located in Washington, PA. With its headquarters in Conroe, TX, MS Energy Services maintains regional service centers in oil and gas producing regions throughout North America to provide a broad range of services and equipment to satisfy contractual directional drilling and surveying requirements.

GL Noble Denton has opened a new office in Perth, Australia. The company will provide a comprehensive service portfolio covering assurance and verification, risk and safety studies, advanced engineering and consulting, marine operations and project execution.

Energy Solutions International, Inc. has finalized a contract with Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolivia-Brasil S.A. (TBG) for the latest version of PipelineTransporter® to manage the company’s transportation contracts as well as their nominations and allocations processes. The 2,593-km pipeline transports natural gas from the Bolivia-Brazil border, through five Brazilian states, delivering gas to consumers including the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. TBG holds transportation contracts with the major Brazilian gas trading shipper, Petrobras, delivering the gas in local city gates.

Sharewell L.P. has completed the purchase of its Electro-Trac™ EM Technology from E-Spectrum Technologies, Inc. This technology was initially developed by E-Spectrum in cooperation with the Department of Energy as part of a “Deep Trek” initiative to foster new technologies to facilitate exploration for deep natural gas resources.

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers
recently conducted a multimillion-dollar unreserved heavy equipment auction in Dubai, UAE. Of the 1,950+ equipment items sold, 115 were sold for the Jan De Nul Group, one of the largest dredging and marine engineering contractors in the world. Their package included a large selection of late model wheel loaders, crawler tractors and hydraulic excavators.

The auction also included the highest value equipment item ever sold at the Dubai site, a multi-component SBM Closed Circuit Jaw/Impact Crushing Plant. The plant was sold to a Saudi Arabian buyer for US$1.8 million.
