Feds Approve FGT And Williams Partners Pipelines

The FERC has approved Florida Gas Transmission Company (FGT) and Williams Partners’ proposal to connect the existing FGT and Transco natural gas pipeline systems with the Gulf LNG Clean Energy import terminal being developed near Pascagoula, MS.

Additionally, FGT received FERC approval for its Mobile Bay Lateral Extension project. FGT will build, own and operate an 9-mile, 24-inch pipeline that would provide access to FGT’s mainline by extending south from the terminus of the Mobile Bay Lateral to connect with the proposed Pascagoula Expansion project and the jointly owned Mobile Bay lateral. This would include modifications to FGT’s existing compressor station.

The Pascagoula Expansion Project will consist of 15.54 miles of 26-inch pipe in portions of Mobile County, AL and Jackson County, MS. The $59 million pipeline project will have the capacity to transport 810,000 Dth/d of natural gas by its in-service date in late summer 2011. The project has been fully contracted with Angola LNG Supply Services LLC. Construction should begin in April.

The Gulf LNG Clean Energy import terminal is under development and scheduled to be placed into service in 2011.
