Plains All American Increases Throughput Of Mesa Pipeline System

Plains All American Pipeline has increased the available throughput capacity of the 80-mile Mesa Pipeline System by 100,000 bpd to 420,000 bpd.

The Mesa System, which originates near Midland, TX, delivers crude oil to Alon’s Big Spring Texas refinery and feeds both the West Texas Gulf Pipeline, which serves markets south and east of Cushing, OK and the Basin Pipeline system, which delivers crude oil to the Cushing hub. The system is jointly owned by subsidiaries of Plains All American and Sunoco Logistics.

“This was a very low-cost project that provides our shippers with market alternatives and supports the recently announced expansions of both the West Texas Gulf and Basin pipeline systems,” said Harry N. Pefanis president and COO of Plains All American.
