ProAct Services Corporation
 width=
Discharge limits for iron and total suspended solids in pipeline hydrotest water are becoming more stringent. Limits for iron in Illinois and Pennsylvania are 4 mg/l and 7 mg/l, respectively. Total suspended solids discharge limits vary from a low of 15 mg/l in Illinois to 100 mg/l in Kansas and Missouri. ProAct Services can treat on-site hydrotest water for iron and total suspended solids along with hydrocarbons at flow rates up to 10,000 gallons per minute and meet these lower discharge levels regardless of the influent load. ProAct reports it has over $9 million of equipment and an extensive fleet of trucks and trailers to mobilize anywhere in the U.S. on short notice. IBM
IBM announced a collaboration with Shell designed to transform how Shell trains employees on its new automated system for loading fuel onto pipelines, trucks, barges and trains. IBM is working with Shell to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of training by helping 1,000 employees in 13 countries improve decision-making skills while building their knowledge of the fueling automation system, called the Global Terminal Automation System (GTAS). The GTAS training solution is a new e-learning tool designed to provide employees with an on-demand, interactive and hands-on environment that recreates typical fueling scenarios in a safe learning environment. The e-learning tool was built through collaboration between Shell, IBM consultants and e-learning developers. www.ibm.com/uk/gbs.

Hans Wedemeyer’s Above Ground Marker

 width=
A new pig search and track receiver has been announced. L22M is a new multi-featured hand-held search and track receiver with graphics display for locating a stationary ELF(15-30Hz) or a magnetic pig. It can do real-time pig passage monitoring and recording with GPS timing accuracy to PC or files stored on a memory card. Pig passage signals can be viewed with an onboard graphics display or downloaded to PC. The search mode has audible alert which is useful for finding stuck ELF or magnetic pigs. Weight is less than 3 lbs. http://www.AboveGroundMarker.com.

Endress+Hauser
 width=
Endress+Hauser introduces the Promag 53 electromagnetic flowmeter with EtherNet/IP connectivity for easy integration with the Rockwell Automation PlantPAx process automation system. The Promag 53 flowmeter measures electrically conductive liquids (> 5 µS/cm) and is ideally suited for applications in food and beverage, water and wastewater, and other process industries. The Promag 53 flowmeter features an integrated Web server that allows authorized users to remotely view flow data, conduct diagnostics, configure the flowmeter or perform process optimization. Data can also be securely accessed by higher-level software such as ERP systems, process historians, control loop tuning programs, and asset management systems. By using EtherNet/IP, up to 10 variables can be configured, including volume flow, calculated mass flow and totalized flow for remote access. http://www. rockwellautomation. com/partners/ eh.html.

FF-Automation
 width=
FF-Automation supplies complete SCADA solutions for remote monitoring and control. Complete solution not only includes RTUs, SCADA and communication equipment but also services like system design, factory and site acceptance tests, training, maintenance, support and spare part guarantee. The company says its goal is to have long term and successful relationships with its customers by giving more value to their business with better products and services. FF-Automation has capacity to make projects with its own project team, but its main goal is to work with its worldwide network of Certified AutoLog System Integrators. 358-10-2190-500, www.ff-automation.com.

Heath Consultants
 width=
Heath Consultants reports it performs One-Call locating for underground pipes and cables to save the client time and money from unnecessary digging or damage to adjacent utilities while following all federal and state One-Call legislation. Services include: underground utility locating, DOT 192.614 Damage Prevention Program, training programs, sub-surface engineering, damage and claims management, field audit and complaint verification, sign and marker replacement, and ticket management. 713-844-1300, www.heathconsultants.com.

Invensys Operations Management
 width=
Invensys Operations Management has announced the next evolution of its Foxboro I/A Series distributed control system featuring new Intelligent Marshalling capabilities and high-performance Foxboro Control Software. Intelligent Marshalling uses new software-configurable universal fieldbus modules that eliminate the need for marshalling cabinets. Foxboro Control Software 3.0 embeds the company’s ArchestrA System Platform and Wonderware InTouch HMI within the Foxboro I/A Series system, integrating the DCS with advanced enterprise software applications under a common object technology. Together, these new developments decrease the cost of implementation and expand traditional DCS functionality. http:// iom.invensys. com/en/pages/foxboro_dcsiaseries.aspx.

Moyno, Inc.
 width=
The Moyno® 1000 close-coupled positive displacement pump is said to provide greater versatility and performance advantages over other types of positive displacements pumps. The compact, close-coupled configuration is ideal where space is a premium. It is designed for a variety of services including shear-sensitive chemical feeds, adhesives, lime, polymer metering, slurries and viscous crude oil transfer applications. The pin-type universal joint is sealed and lubricated, providing long life with minimum maintenance. A key feature is a two-piece drive shaft which allows easy assembly, maintenance, and mechanical seal access. This drive shaft configuration eliminates the need for complete pump disassembly when servicing the mechanical seal. 937-438-3434, e-mail: literature@tdh-marketing.com, www.moyno.com.

Radiodetection
Radiodetection’s proprietary Compass technology is said to provide a visual indication of the direction of the target relative to the Cable and Pipe Locator. The operator can quickly follow the target by simply following the direction indicated by the dynamic line indicator on the screen of their Locator. A common cause of inaccuracy when measuring the depth of a buried utility is incorrect alignment of the Locator. To reduce the risk of false readings, Radiodetection developed TruDepth®, a technology that suppresses depth readouts unless the Locator is correctly lined up with the target – be it a pipe, a cable or a sonde. www.radiodetection.com/precisionlocate. www.spx.com.

McElroy
McElroy, prominent in pipe fusion equipment and accessories, recently introduced the Guided Side-Bend Tester. The quality assurance device performs a qualitative test for ductility in a fusion joint. The Guided Side-Bend Tester is a quick, safe replacement for “bend back” tests that have been performed in the field for many years. With the new equipment, an operator can perform a bend-back test on polyethylene pipes with 1 to 7 inches of wall thickness. This testing method places the entire wall thickness into tension and gives assurance of the ductility of joints. The test unit is compact and requires just a few common tools to conduct the process. www.mcelroy.com/fusion.

Engineered Concepts, LLC
 width=
Engineered Concepts, LLC says its emission-free natural gas dehydrator technology may be incorporated into new or retrofitted systems of any capacity without variance in efficiency or functionality. Unlike other BTEX systems that depend upon ambient cooling, the company said its retrofit is a temperature-controlled “all-weather” system. The process consumes or sells all uncondensed hydrocarbons and is unaffected by gas volume or “rich gas” content. The higher gas volumes and the richer the gas content speeds operator pay back. Retrofitting to an existing dehydrator usually requires minimal field construction and applies to small remote wellhead applications, large plant dehydrators, or offshore service – anywhere elimination of hydrocarbon emissions, increased dehydrator performance, and improved safety is desired. This technology eliminates odors and creates a safer working environment while reducing fuel requirements and maintenance. www.engineeredconcepts.com, J.barnes@engineeredconcepts.com.
