Western Gas Partners Acquires Gas Gathering Systems In Marcellus Shale

Western Gas Partners LP will acquire a 33.75% interest in the Liberty and Rome gas gathering systems from Anadarko Corp. for $490 million.

The partnership will also acquire a 33.75% interest in the Larry’s Creek, Seely and Warrensville gas gathering systems from an affiliate of Chesapeake Energy Corp. for $133.5 million. The assets in both acquisitions serve production from the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania and have total throughput exceeding 1.2 Bcf/d.
