Enterprise Announces Ethane Pipeline Project

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. has received transportation commitments to support development of a 270-mile pipeline header system that will deliver ethane to petrochemical plants in the U.S. Gulf Coast region.

The Enterprise Aegis Pipeline will originate at Enterprise’s Mont Belvieu liquids storage complex and have capacity to transport purity ethane to multiple petrochemical facilities in Texas and Louisiana.

The final design, including capacity and delivery points, will be determined once any further binding commitments are received at the conclusion of the project’s open period that closed on April 9. The pipeline is expected to begin commercial operations in 2014.

In other news, Enterprise Products held an open commitment period that closed on April 18 to solicit long-term transportation agreements with interested shippers for movements of diluent-quality natural gasoline from its Mont Belvieu liquids storage complex to several potential delivery points in and around the Chicago area, including potential connections to the Southern Lights and Cochin pipelines. The final delivery point(s) will be set after evaluating the binding commitments.
