EIS Submitted For Canadian LNG Export Facility

Pacific NorthWest LNG formally submitted its Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to both the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) and the BC Environmental Assessment Office (BC EAO) for the planned LNG export facility on Canada’s Lelu Island in Port Edward, near Prince Rupert, BC.

The proposed facility will comprise an initial development of two LNG trains of 6 million tons per annum (mtpa) each, and a subsequent development of a third train of 6 mtpa. It would liquefy and export natural gas produced by Progress Energy Canada in northeastern BC.

Pacific NorthWest LNG is majority-owned by Petronas. Japex and Petroleum Brunei are partners in Pacific NorthWest LNG and its associated natural gas supply.
