Construction Starts On LNG Expansion In BC
Bechtel recently started construction at the Tilbury LNG facility in British Columbia.
Fortis BC, the owner and operator of the facility, awarded Bechtel an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to expand its Tilbury facility, which will include a 1-Bcf full-containment LNG storage tank. The company also is responsible for the startup and commissioning of the liquefaction facility.
Construction is planned to be completed in November 2016. The project will add 46,000 m3 of LNG storage and increase the facility’s liquefaction capacity to 1,740 m3/d to meet the growing LNG demands of the transportation sector, remote communities, and industry in British Columbia.
