Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s Steve Redding Sr., director of the company’s leak management program, received the 2015 Milton W. Heath Sr. Memorial Award at the American Gas Association’s annual Operations Conference and Biennial Exhibition in Grapevine, TX. The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions toward the detection, prevention and repair of natural gas leaks.

Redding was recognized for his achievements in reducing leaks through the use of cutting-edge technologies and development of a management process unique to PG&E that is streamlining its ability to respond to leaks called Super Crew.

Less than a week after Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett left office, his top energy adviser took a job with Pennsylvania’s largest gas industry trade group, the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) . Patrick Henderson will become MSC’s director of Regulatory Affairs.

Personnel Changes

Tinker & Rasor named Stephanie Decker as international business development manager. Decker has 18 years of experience in the corrosion industry.

Scott Kranstuber has been hired as vice president – Sales & Marketing of Sensit Technologies. He will lead sales and marketing efforts throughout the Americas and Western Europe. He can be reached at skranstuber@gasleaksensors.com.

AGL Resources named Andrew W. Evans as president and COO. He was executive vice president and CFO. John Somerhalder II remains chairman and CEO. The company appointed Elizabeth W. (Beth) Reese as executive vice president and CFO. Other changes included PeterTumminello named executive vice president of AGL’s Non-regulated Businesses and Melvin D. Williams named senior vice president of AGL Resources and president of Nicor Gas.
After 35 years of selling high-density polyethylene pipe for ISCO Industries, Jim Fletcher is retiring but will consult for ISCO.

MarkWest Energy Partners announced the planned retirement of Randy Nickerson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, along with several senior management changes. Greg S. Floerke, senior vice president of Operations for the Northeast Region, was promoted to executive vice president and chief commercial officer; the duties of Nancy K. Buese, executive vice president and CFO, were expanded to include Mergers and Acquisitions and Joint Venture Management. John C. Mollenkopf, executive vice president and chief operations officer, will also be responsible for NGL and Gas Marketing functions. David A. Fitch, vice president of Engineering for the Northeast Region, was promoted to senior vice president of Operations, Northeast Region, replacing Floerke. John Paul Elder, director of Engineering for the Northeast Region, was promoted to vice president Engineering, Northeast Region.

Frank Patterson joined Chesapeake Energy Corp. as executive vice president – Exploration, Land and Subsurface Technology. He replaced John Kapchinske.

Brandon Hofmeister was named executive director of Policy, Research and Public Affairs for Consumers Energy.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. promoted Aaron Milford to CFO. He served as vice president of crude oil business development for Magellan.

Jim Moore has been named CEO of Polyflow, LLC. He had been COO.
The board of directors of DNV GL Group appointed Remi Eriksen as group president and CEO, succeeding Henrik O. Madsen, who is retiring.

Company News, Mergers & Acquisitions

ISCO Industries finalized a distribution agreement with the Tubi Group. The Tubi system is a mobile HDPE pipe production plant that is deployed and operational in less than 48 hours. It has the capability of extruding pipe in unprecedented lengths directly on a project site. In addition to extruding long lengths of pipe, Tubi can coil up to 1,500 feet of 12-inch pipe.

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services has opened an office at 16225 Park Ten Place in Houston led by Langan W. Kyle Bogardus, PE, senior associate, and Chip Day, senior project manager.

The Analysis Division of the International Society of Automation (ISA) selected AMETEK Process Instruments to receive the Innovative Product of the Year award at the recent Division Symposium, held in Galveston, TX. AMETEK was chosen over 12 other entrants for its Model 888 sulfur recovery unit (SRU) tail gas analyzer.

EIV Capital completed its $40 million investment commitment to form Woodland Midstream, LLC, an independent natural gas midstream company. The investment will fund the build-out and acquisition of natural gas pipeline and processing infrastructure throughout East Texas and bordering states. Woodland is led by Richard Wright and Curtis Stevens, midstream energy veterans with over 45 years of combined industry experience.

Tesmec USA, Inc. has an agreement with Glynn General Corp. to provide extended powertrain warranty on all new trenchers sold to U.S. and Canadian end users. This warranty ensures the engine, transmission, and driveline to be free of defects in material for three years as well as the costs associated with mechanical breakdown or failure due to defects in material for three years. Coverage can be expanded to cover the hydraulics for an additional charge. Extensions of coverage are available for up to 5 years/10,000 hours (inclusive of the base warranty).

The STATS Group, has invested $2 million in new facilities in Houston to expand its services in the U.S. and South American oil and gas markets. Stephen Rawlinson, previously general manager in Canada, was promoted to vice president for the Americas, while Scott McNae was elevated from global projects manager to general manager for USA Operations.

Ritchie Bros. sold over CA$215 million of heavy equipment and trucks at an unreserved public auction in Edmonton, AB from April 28-May 1, making it the largest Canadian auction in company history. The auction broke multiple other company records. Bids were made in person at the Edmonton auction site, online in real time at rbauction.com and by proxy.

Applus RTD opened an office in Corpus Christi, TX to accommodate increased demand for its non-destructive testing (NDT) services from the region’s energy industry.
