Pioneering Pipeline Club Celebrates Anniversary
The Pipe Liners Club of Tulsa (PLCT) was recognized with a mayoral proclamation honoring the pioneering group’s contributions to the city and its culture at a celebration of the club’s 75th anniversary.
In addition to focusing on the organization’s longevity and its longtime benefit to the city’s economy, Tulsa Mayor G. T. Bynum’s proclamation honored the pipeline construction industry for its ongoing efforts to educate, train and grow the next generation workforce by awarding scholarships to aspiring young students.
The scholarship program awards $150,000 annually and is funded by club’s 400-plus membership, including industry professionals from such companies as Williams, ONEOK, Magellan, and many area pipeline construction, service and manufacturing companies.
PLCT’s long history began in 1947, as the United States was transitioning from wartime manufacturing to producing consumer products on an unprecedented scale. The club began conducting meetings at various locations around Tulsa in 1948.
INGAA Foundation Appoints Pipeline Safety Pro as 2023 Board Chair
The INGAA Foundation Board of Directors has appointed Paul Amato as chair of the INGAA foundation for a one-year term and Sean Nicholson to serve as the Foundation’s vice chair.
Amato, who serves on the Interstate Natural Gas Association’s Pipeline Safety Executive Committee, is vice president, Engineering, Operations & EH&S for Iroquois Pipeline Operating Company in Shelton, Connecticut. He has led various technical departments since joining Iroquois in 1997, including Engineering, Field Operations and Right of Way. Prior to joining Iroquois, Amato worked at Algonquin Gas and Connecticut’s Public Utility Control. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut.
Nicholson is vice president of HSE for Michels Corporation, based in Brownsville, Wisconsin, where he has worked since 2007. Before joining Michels, he was corporate director of HSE & Risk for Mears Group, Inc. (a Quanta Services Company).
The American Petroleum Institute (API) named Lynn Granger as Region Director for the Midwest and Mountain West Regions. Granger served as executive director of API Colorado since 2019. In her new role, Granger will lead strategy for state legislative and regulatory policy in the Midwest region as well as provide continued strategic oversight to API’s Colorado operations.
Prior to joining API Colorado, Granger was with Colorado Concern, where she led all operational and strategic execution for the organization, supporting legislative candidates and statewide policies that promote a sound economic future for Colorado. She was also the communications director for the Colorado Department of Revenue, where she served as the department’s subject matter expert and primary media liaison for all outreach and engagement efforts.
Granger began her career as a soldier in the U.S. Army before embarking on a civilian communications career which included service as strategic communications advisor to the Commander of United States Army Europe, a 3-star billet, based in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Anna Petitt, Tendeka’s UK sales manager, was selected to receive the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) 2022 Regional Young Professional Member Outstanding Service Award for the North Sea region. The award acknowledged her contributions to the community and commitment to SPE and the wider the petroleum engineering profession.
