Names 

Burns & McDonnell announced new leadership of two of its businesses in preparation for retirement of current leaders. Scott Strawn will serve as the general manager of the Energy Group, succeeding Rick Halil, who will retire at the end of the year after 34 years with the company. Mark Knaack will be the next general manager of the Environmental Services Group and succeed Steve Nalefski, who is retiring at the end of the year after a 38-year career. 

EPC company Jōb Industrial Services appointed Randy Nelson as vice president of operations. Based in the Salt Lake City office, Nelson will direct, coordinate and oversee engineering, project management and construction, with a focus on integrating operations to ensure proper development and execution of projects.  

Hargrove Controls & Automation’s Vice President Karen Griffin, was appointed chair of the Board of Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) at its 2023 Executive Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Griffin recently served as the Board’s treasurer before accepting her two-year term appointment as chair. She has also served on the marketing committee for several years. 

O’Brien Right of Way Valuation hired  Matt Browne and Sam Sutton as managing director and senior analyst, respectively. Browne, has 25 years of experience, and is past-president of the Central Texas Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Prior to joining the company he was the managing director for Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis. Sutton has 14 years of experience in all elements of eminent domain litigation analysis and will support the firm’s litigation team. Previously, he was the senior valuation associate for a specialized litigation support team.  

Allgon appointed Zoran Jankulovski as its chief operating officer. He is an experienced senior business executive, with a long career at SKF and General Electric. He is expected to play a crucial role in spearheading the company's growth strategy and operational excellence worldwide. 

Belzona Polymerics Ltd. promoted long-serving employee Mrs. Charli Walton  (Ge Yu) to its Board of Directors. She gas gained considerable experience in B2B marketing and will be responsible for creating and implementing marketing strategies to consolidate and accelerate Belzona’s growth plans in China.  

EnerMech appointed Rahul Dalela to head up its in-country operations as general manager, and Chetan Mistry as head of Finance, Accounts and Shared Services.  

Total-Western has announced Angel Handlon as its new director of human resources. In her new role, she will oversee the development of a strategically aligned human resources department. Handlon earned her bachelor's degree in English from Hanover College and her MBA in business & human resources management from Indiana Wesleyan University.  

Ravi Purohit, has joined Paul, Weiss’s infrastructure practice as a co-head. He previously was a partner at Latham & Watkins and global vice chair of its Energy & Infrastructure group. He represents institutional investors, private equity firms and companies on M&A, asset sales, joint ventures and other corporate finance matters.  

Businesses 

 

Wood is working with National Gas to ensure Britain’s gas transmission system is secure and sustainable through a five-year agreement. Wood will apply digital solutions to transform National Gas infrastructure to modernize and cyber-secure technology across the entire network of critical assets across Britain. Wood will digitally upgrade 4,722 miles (7,600 km) of essential pipelines, compressor stations and terminal infrastructure as part of their commitment to energy transition. 

Lloyd’s Register and Baker Hughes are celebrating 30 years of collaboration since the first Type Approval of Baker Hughes’ unbonded flexible pipe products was granted in 1992. This milestone also commemorates 25 years since the inclusion of the Newcastle, U.K., manufacturing site and 15 years since the inclusion of the Niteroi (Brazil) manufacturing site into the Type Approval scheme. 

DNV acquired Enviroguide Consulting, an environmental consultancy based in Dublin, Ireland. The deal strengthens DNV’s foothold in the region and expands DNV’s comprehensive portfolio of environmental solutions. Enviroguide has doubled in turnover over the last two years. 

ROSEN relocated its Aberdeen, Scotland office to the west side of the city to accommodate its growing engineering team and future expansion plans. With the move, the company more than doubled its office space in Aberdeen to 4,000 square feet. This expansion provides a fit-for-purpose working environment for the staff of 26,  provides IT and additional meetings facilities. 

Associations 

Energy Workforce and Technology Council hired Karina Erickson as communications director. She previously served as communications director for Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush and the Texas General Land Office, covering management of state lands, asset management (oil, gas, alternative energies, and natural resources), oversight of the Alamo, benefits for Texas Veterans and the Texas coast. Prior to joining the Bush team, she served as communications director for U.S. Congressman Ted Poe of Texas.
