Sherwin-Williams
The new Heat-Flex 7000 thermal insulative coating system from Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine offers personnel protection, insulating capabilities and solar heat reflectivity, for an array of industrial applications.
The single-component, spray-applied coating system meets Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards for protecting personnel from skin-contact burns in one coat, on assets operating at temperatures up to 350° F (177° C).
Able to be directly applied to hot substrates, the coating is spray-applied — typically 50-75 mils dry film thickness (DFT) — over a required corrosion-resistant primer. Although Heat-Flex 7000 does not provide as much R-value as conventional insulation in dry conditions, it forms a closed-cell film that resists moisture penetration — from rain, water sprays or humidity — far more effectively than conventional insulation. Therefore, its thermal efficiency remains consistent in even the wettest conditions. www.industrial.sherwin-williams.com/na
PCE Instruments
The PCE-TDS 200+ accurately measures the flow of liquids, which is a crucial advance in various steps of power generation. This ultrasonic flow meter also allows the connection of two thermocouple sensors and thus also enables the measurement of thermal energy in a heating or cooling circuit.
The PCE-TDS 200+ determines the flow velocity of the medium in the heating circuit and calculates the volume flow taking into account the pipe diameter. The volume flow and the temperature difference between flow and return, which are also measured by ultrasound, make it possible to determine the amount of heat.
The particular advantage of this ultrasonic flow meter is its cost-effectiveness, flexibility and mobility. Due to the ultrasonic technology, measurements of aggressive and toxic media can be carried out without contact and wear. www.pce-instruments.com
NDT Global
NDT Global released its OPTIX Data Visualization and Insights Platform, providing pipeline operators with an intuitive, cloud-based dashboard to visualize all inline inspection (ILI) data in one accessible location.
Digitization of the final inspection report, combined with the ease of filtering and arranging relevant data, allows operators to better understand their ILI inspection results and make more informed decisions to ensure the integrity of their pipelines.
The platform provides a comprehensive view of pipeline conditions not previously available, bringing together results from many inspection runs. Continued advancement in ILI technologies has led to significantly more data to extract and interpret. www.ndt-global.com
McElroy
McElroy’s added the TracStar 412i and TracStar 618i to its iSeries machines. The machines are designed to fuse pipe sizes from 4-inch IPS to 12-inch DIPS (110mm to 340mm), and from 6-inch IPS to 18-inch OD (180mm to 450mm), respectively.
These equipment includes a few key differences from their Series 2 counterparts. The TracStar 412i and 618i will incorporate the FusionGuide Control system seen on other models, providing operators with three levels of control during the fusion process.
Each level has varying degrees of assistance, from manual control to fully automatic fusion. A new indexer keeps the heater and facer attached to the four jaw carriage, condensing the heater, facer, and jaws into a single unit.
Operators will be able to move the indexer side to side along a set of rails, allowing them to position the heater and facer between the carriage’s movable jaws as needed. Like the larger machines, the Tractor 412 i and 618i will be controlled via the DataLogger, McElroy’s ruggedized tablet that records fusion parameters and other pertinent data during the fusion process. www.mcelroy.com
Dekotec
Dekotec GmbH offers Dexpand-CF70, which repairs damaged sections of steel pipes and restores structural integrity, returning them to their original level. The carbon composite repair system, the pipeline can be repaired during ongoing operations. The system can provide a saving of about 75%, and take about half as long, Dekotec said. It is suitable to repair defects in which up to 80% of the original wall thickness has been lost. The system is suitable for operating temperatures of up to 70 degrees C (158 degrees F). www.dekotec.com.
Pettibone
Pettibone brings its X-Series telehandler lineup to the 15,000-pound lifting class for the first time with the Extendo 1544X. The added load capacity is idea for both construction and pipe yard applications. The telehandler is powered by a 117-horsepower Cummins QSF 3.8 Tier 4 Final turbo diesel engine.
Mounted onto a side pod, the engine offers easy accessibility to components and daily service checks, while still allowing for exceptional curbside visibility and a ground clearance of 19 inches. The 30-gallon fuel tank provides ample volume for a full day’s work at 100% load.
The telehandler comes standard with foam-filled tires. the 1544X offers a maximum lift height of 44 feet, a maximum forward reach of 29 feet, and a maximum load capacity of 15,000 pounds. www.gopettibone.com
