PECO Inspects 308 Miles of Natural Gas Main
PECO said it completed nearly 600 projects to enhance natural gas and electric service for customers during the first quarter of 2016. That work included inspection of 308 miles of natural gas main, completion of more than 1,700 valve inspections and replacement of nearly two miles of natural gas main with plastic pipe between January and March.
The company invests more than $500 million each year to enhance its system infrastructure through preventive maintenance and equipment upgrades.
“We are constantly monitoring our natural gas and electric systems to identify areas where we can enhance service reliability for our customers,” said Mike Innocenzo, senior vice president and COO. “This ongoing, proactive work is critical to maintaining the level of service our customers expect.”
