ETP to Build Oil Pipeline from Permian to Texas Coast

Energy Transfer Partners plans to construct a crude oil pipeline, with an initial capacity of up to 600,000 bpd and expandable to 1 million bpd, from the Permian Basin to the Houston Ship Channel and Nederland, Texas, the company said during a conference call.

Due to rising production, pipelines in the Permian Basin are running at maximum capacity, causing crude oil prices in the region to decline to their lowest levels in three and a half years.

The pipeline will serve growing export markets at coastal ports and is expected to be placed in service by 2020.
