Enbridge’s Cameron Extension Pipeline Project Nearing Completion

Texas Eastern Transmission’s Cameron Extension pipeline project in southwestern Louisiana is on track to be mechanically complete in October, leading to a November in-service, an Enbridge spokesperson said.
Texas Eastern Transmission is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Enbridge Inc.
The Cameron Extension Project will provide 50,000 dekatherms per day of firm natural gas transportation supply to the Calcasieu Pass LNG facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, according to Enbridge.
The project facilities include a new 30,000 horsepower compressor station, new metering and regulating stations, about 0.2 miles of 30-inch diameter interconnecting piping, and installation and modification of various equipment and facilities at existing sites along Texas Eastern’s Line 41 in Beauregard, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis parishes, Louisiana.
The Calcasieu Pass LNG facility, owned by Venture Global LNG, will have a single 42-inch diameter, 24-mile-long lateral pipeline, TransCameron, that will extend eastward from the Calcasieu Pass LNG facility to a location near Grand Chenier, Louisiana, where it will interconnect with ANR, TETCO, and Bridgeline Pipelines, according to Venture Global LNG.
TransCameron Pipeline received FERC authorization in February 2019 and Venture Global LNG expects it to have capacity of 2.1 Bcf/d by 2022.
Enbridge predicted the Cameron Extension construction would be complete in the second half of this year, meaning its expected November in-service date is right on schedule. The project received FERC approval in June 2020 and construction began in January.
The project is being constructed “using proven and safe techniques and is designed to minimize potential impacts to landowners, the environment and communities, as project facilities will be within, along or adjacent to existing utility and transportation corridors.”
