EIA: US Crude and Petroleum Products Demand Rises in November
(Reuters) — Demand for U.S. crude and petroleum products rose 178,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) in November to 20.59 million bbl/d, the highest since August, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said Tuesday in its Petroleum Supply Monthly (PSM) report.
Demand for finished motor gasoline rose 21,000 bbl/d to 8.85 million bbl/d in November, also its highest since November, EIA said.
Monthly crude oil field production fell in November to 12.38 million bbl/d, down from a 31-month high of 12.41 million bbl/d in October, EIA said.
Among the top oil producing states, monthly output in Texas sank 0.4% to 5.21 million bbl/d in November, its lowest since August.
The previous month, Texas production was 5.2 million bbl/d, its strongest since March 2020.
In North Dakota, oil output dipped 0.4% to 1.1 million bbl/d in November, also sinking to its lowest since August.
In New Mexico, output eased to 1.723 million bbl/d in November from the record high of 1.724 million bbl/d in October.
Gross natural gas production in the U.S. Lower 48 states rose 0.2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) to a record 112.2 Bcf/d in November, according to EIA's monthly 914 production report.
That topped the prior all-time high of 112.0 Bcf/d in October.
In the top gas producing states, monthly output in November fell 0.3% to 31.8 Bcf/d in Texas and fell 0.6% to 20.2 Bcf/d in Pennsylvania.
Gas output hit a record of 31.9 Bcf/d in Texas in October and 21.8 Bcf/d in Pennsylvania in December 2021.
