INGAA Urges Action on Permitting Reform Citing Natural Gas Council Letter
(P&GJ) — Amy Andryszak, president & CEO of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) issued the following statement about the Natural Gas Council’s letter to Senate leadership on permitting reform:
“As a coalition of trades representing the companies and individuals who produce, transport, and deliver natural gas across the nation, the Natural Gas Council (NGC) is urging Senate leadership to take steps to strengthen U.S. permitting statutes.
“In the letter, the NGC outlined specific legislative proposals that we agree are necessary to continue to deliver the benefits of U.S. natural gas to the American people. Those proposals include reforming the Clean Water Act and the National Environmental Policy Act and establishing timelines for judicial review of CWA certifications and NEPA reviews.
“The INGAA membership agrees that meaningful permitting legislation incorporating these statutory reforms is necessary to get the U.S. back to building the energy infrastructure needed to deliver a reliable, secure and affordable clean energy future for the American people.”
