Second Gas Pipeline Rupture in Texas’ Reeves County Raises Environmental Concerns

According to a report by Yourbasin (Big 2 - Fox 24), a natural gas pipeline in Reeves County ruptured on July 15, marking the second such incident in the area within 11 months. The rupture affected a 24-inch pipeline situated 50 yards away from another pipeline running parallel to it.

Officials noted that this recent incident follows a previous rupture of a 30-inch Northern pipeline, which happened about 300 yards from the current site less than a year ago. The shallow water table in the area has raised concerns about possible environmental impacts.

Reeves County Emergency Services responded to the scene around 8:00 a.m. on Monday to investigate and manage the situation. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are not yet available.
