Baker Hughes Secures LNG Equipment, Services Deal for Venture Global's U.S. Projects
(P&GJ) — Baker Hughes has secured a major contract to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology and services for Venture Global’s U.S. projects, the company said on Jan. 30.
The deal includes providing a modularized LNG system and power island for Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG project in Louisiana. Baker Hughes also signed a multi-year services agreement covering maintenance, inspections, repairs, and engineering for the project’s first two phases. The contracts were finalized in the fourth quarter of 2024.
“As power demand surges, LNG has a critical role to play in providing a reliable, flexible fuel source that can be quickly scaled to meet rising demand,” said Baker Hughes CEO Lorenzo Simonelli. “Our collaboration with Venture Global is a key example of what our industry needs more of today.”
Venture Global CEO Mike Sabel called Baker Hughes a “trusted partner” in delivering reliable energy supplies.
Baker Hughes has been a key LNG technology supplier for Venture Global, supporting more than 100 million tons per annum (MTPA) of production capacity across its Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines LNG facilities.
Venture Global recently announced the departure of its first LNG cargo from the Plaquemines facility following the project’s initial production phase.
