Delfin Inks 15-Year Deal to Send U.S. Gulf Coast LNG to Europe’s SEFE
(P&GJ) — Delfin Midstream has signed a long-term agreement to supply Germany-based SEFE Securing Energy for Europe with 1.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually for at least 15 years.
The LNG will come from Delfin’s floating LNG (FLNG) vessels positioned about 40 miles offshore near Cameron, Louisiana. Deliveries will begin once the FLNG units are constructed and commissioned.
Under the Heads of Agreement, SEFE will receive free-on-board (FOB) shipments with flexible delivery destinations.
“This long-term agreement with Delfin enables SEFE to further diversify its LNG portfolio with greater destination flexibility,” said SEFE CCO Frederic Barnaud. “This in turn ensures the security of supply of SEFE’s customers in Europe and around the world.”
Delfin CEO Dudley Poston said the partnership reinforces the company’s role as a provider of “reliable low-cost energy from the safety of the United States,” and noted the project’s strategic importance to both U.S. and international stakeholders.
Delfin’s offshore LNG export terminal plans include up to three FLNG vessels capable of producing up to 13 million tonnes per year using its low-cost floating infrastructure.
