Tallgrass Launches Open Season for Pony Express Pipeline Crude Shipments Out of Colorado
(P&GJ) — Tallgrass Pony Express Pipeline, LLC has launched a 30-day binding open season to offer incentive tariff rates for crude oil transportation from its Colorado origins, the company announced on March 7. The open season allows shippers to commit to long-term contracts using existing capacity on the Pony Express system.

The Pony Express Pipeline (PXP) transports crude oil from Guernsey, Wyoming, to delivery points in Cushing, Oklahoma, with a capacity of 230,000 barrels per day. It operates under local and joint tariffs with Belle Fourche Pipeline and Hiland Crude’s Double H Pipeline.
PXP also moves crude via its Northeast Colorado Lateral (NECL), which has a capacity of 90,000 barrels per day. The system delivers to major Cushing-area hubs, including Enterprise, Enbridge, Plains, Rose Rock, and Blue Knight, as well as the Phillips 66 refinery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Additional deliveries to Seaway, NGL, and Deeprock facilities require further arrangements and fees.
Currently, 90% of PXP’s capacity is contracted by committed shippers, with at least 10% reserved for walk-up shippers.
