Freedom CNG Acquires X3CNG, Lancer Energy to Expand Western RNG Footprint
(P&GJ) — Freedom CNG has expanded its renewable fuel infrastructure in the Western U.S. with the acquisitions of Colorado-based X3CNG and Utah-based Lancer Energy, the company announced.
X3CNG operates one of Colorado's largest public-access compressed natural gas (CNG) station networks, including major sites in Colorado Springs and Greeley — the state's largest public CNG station. Lancer Energy specializes in designing, building, and maintaining CNG and renewable natural gas (RNG) fueling stations, and also offers services for electric vehicle and hydrogen fueling systems.
The deals expand Freedom CNG’s reach and enhance its clean energy offerings to commercial fleets, municipalities, school districts and other large fuel users. Freedom currently owns and operates eight RNG fueling stations across Texas and Colorado.
“Joining forces with Freedom CNG marks an exciting new chapter — one that brings expanded resources, shared values and a bold vision for a cleaner energy future,” said Lance Granger, founder of Lancer Energy and now Group Vice President at Freedom CNG.
James Mora, former president of X3CNG and now Freedom's general manager of the Rocky Mountain Region, added that the acquisition supports the company’s mission to provide lower-emissions fuel solutions.
Freedom CNG President and CFO Nick Kurtenbach called the acquisitions “significant milestones” for the company. "X3CNG’s robust network in Colorado and Lancer’s technical expertise provide an incredible platform for us to meet rising demand," he said.
Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
