Deepwater Corrosion Services, in conjunction with its local partner Alduco, has setup two bases of operation to service the offshore market in the Gulf of Guinea. The initial operating bases are in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea and Lagos and Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Deepwater says through this alliance it will offer the full range of its products and services in the Gulf of Guinea.
Mpact Downhole Motors is the new name of a Conroe, TX-based company with 20 years experience. Formerly part of Multi-Shot LLC, under this new business name, Mpact Downhole Motors will focus exclusively on the development, manufacture, distribution and rental of proprietary Mpact™ drilling motors for the domestic directional, horizontal, and vertical drilling markets, servicing customers through four regional service centers and ten sales offices.
Dresser Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire assets of iMeter B.V., based the Netherlands. iMeter B.V. manufactures and markets rotary and turbine gas meters, meter instrumentation and meter calibration systems for the natural gas industry.
Entessa Inc. has been selected by the Calgary-based Inter Pipeline Fund (IPF) to manage its pipeline nominations-to-inventory cycle for its oil sands pipelines. IPF operates more than 3,000 miles of oil sands and conventional oil pipelines.
Corrpro Companies Inc.’s Houston-based crew was recently honored with the Houston Business Roundtable (HBR) Gold Award in Safety Excellence. The HBR has been recognizing Greater Houston area industrial contractors for their outstanding safety performances for over 20 years.
This is the second year in a row that ExxonMobil has nominated the Corrpro crew for their work at the ExxonMobil Baytown, TX facility in the “Specialty Contractor Soft Crafts/Environmental Small” award category. The Corrpro crew also received the Bronze Award at last year’s award presentation. This year, in addition to receiving the HBR Gold Award, Corrpro was one of the few contractors selected to participate in a field audit. Field audits are conducted by teams of client/owners and contractors at the nominee’s jobsite. Field audits provide opportunities for team members and nominees to learn and share best safety practices.

Godwin Pumps was recently recognized by The Philadelphia Business Journal and the Rowan University – Rohrer College of Business as one of the 25 Fastest Growing Private Companies in South Jersey. With a 31.14% increase in revenue from 2006 – 2008, the 23rd-ranked Godwin Pumps was the largest company on the list in both employee size and annual revenue, and also boasts the greatest business longevity.
“I am proud of our growth; not just in the past three years, but over the past 33 years,” said President John Paz.
Honeywell has signed a definitive agreement valued at approximately $400 million to acquire the RMG Group, a German-based leader in natural gas measuring and control products services and integrated solutions. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
In other news, Honeywell has been selected by Tekfen Construction & Installation Co. Inc. to design, configure, install and initiate a new fire and gas detection system at the BTC pipeline terminal in Ceyhan, Turkey. At 1,099 miles long, it is the second longest pipeline in the world. The project is funded by a consortium of 11 oil and gas companies and is led by BP Plc.
Cameron has acquired the MaxTorque line of products and services. The business will now be offered through Cameron’s Flow Control division, part of the company’s Drilling & Production Systems group. MaxTorque designs, manufactures, markets, and sells high performance quarter turn and multi-turn gear operators for motorized and manual applications, subsea operators, Navy specific operators, overrides, and engineered solutions. The company has a manufacturing plant in Limerick Maine that will continue to develop, sell, and service these products.
Indianapolis-based Midwest Mole has unveiled a new logo to better reflect the company’s growth from a small local firm to a recognized leader in the boring, jacking and tunneling industry as well as other trenchless technology services. Aker Solutions has signed a contract with Maersk FPSOs to perform the mooring installation work at the Peregrino field offshore Brazil. The contract is the first marine installation job for Aker Solutions in Brazil and marks the start-up of the company’s marine operations unit in the country. Contract value is undisclosed.

The five companies which make up Trelleborg Offshore will now be identified as Trelleborg Offshore followed by their geographical locations, replacing the well-known industry names of CRP, OCP, Emerson & Cuming and Viking, and bringing them under the banner of a consistent Trelleborg Offshore brand.
