Leak Detection, Monitoring, Inspection And Erosion Control: Weatherford subsea leak detection

Weatherford offers a brochure on its website devoted to subsea pipeline leak detection. Weatherford’s Pipeline & Specialty Services (P&SS) group offers multiple independent leak-detection systems.

These systems, in combination, are capable of finding very small leaks irrespective of pipeline product, water current, visibility or even minimal pressure differential conditions. The company says the speed, versatility and sensitivity of its systems helps operators minimize exposure to expensive marine construction repair spreads.

The systems include BigEars™ passive acoustic systems, dye-detector systems that can be deployed by ROV or a diver, programmable mass-spectrometers to take continuous samples along the pipeline route and the Didson active-acoustic systems that send near-video-quality, black-and-white image to the surface. 713-693-4000, pss@weatherford.com, www.weatherford.com/pss.
