AGA Holds Conference on Shale Production

The American Gas Association (AGA) announced March 10 that it will sponsor a “strategic conference and technical exhibition revolving around new discoveries of shale gas” November 3-5 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in the Dallas, TX metro area.

The World Shale Gas Summit is designed to bring together global energy stakeholders to discuss the financial, commercial and regulatory aspects of shale production worldwide.

The abundance of shale gas worldwide has changed the natural gas landscape. By June 2009, discoveries of shale gas within the United States pushed estimates of recoverable U.S. natural reserves to 1,836 tcf, up from 1,321 tcf in 2007. Thirty-three percent of the new total is shale gas.

The summit aims to bring together the entire value chain, from resource holders, governments and regulators to operators, technology companies and pipeline and distribution companies around the world. Continents and countries already represented include North America, Europe, Argentina, South Africa, India and China.
