Pipeliners Association Of Houston Hears About Spiral Line Pipe

About 200 members and guests of The Pipeliners Association of Houston attended the group’s first meeting of the 2010-2011 year Aug. 30. Speakers, Rick Steinheimer, of Stupp Corp., and Winston A. Johnston II, of J-II Consulting, discussed advances by Stupp Corp. with construction of its leading-edge spiral pipe mill in Baton Rouge, LA.

They also discussed the experiences transmission pipeline companies have had with the API 5L spiral pipe being produced at the mill in an atypical two-step process that enables strict control of dimensional tolerances.
