Larsen & Toubro Wins UAE Gas Project

Larsen & Toubro Limited has been awarded a contract from Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited (GASCO) for the Habshan-Ruwais-Shuweihat gas pipeline project. Valued at around US$ 189 million, the contract involves EPC installation and commissioning of the pipeline to be commissioned in 24 – 26 months.

The Habshan-Ruwais-Shuweihat gas pipeline is intended to supply natural gas to the Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company’s (Takreer) new refinery expansion project at Ruwais and to the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) in Shuwiehat.

The size of pipeline between Habshan and Ruwais will be 52 inches in diameter and between Ruwais and Shuweihat, it will be 48 inches. The overall length will be 123-km. Front end engineering design (FEED) studies on the project were completed earlier this year.

GASCO is implementing Habshan-Ruwais-Shewaihat gas pipeline project on behalf of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
