Nova Scotia May Get LNG Export Plant

Pieridae Energy Canada wants to develop an LNG export facility in Goldboro, Nova Scotia.

The US$5 billion proposal includes a liquefaction plant, storage facilities and marine jetty for loading LNG. The company expects the site to produce 5 million metric tons of LNG yearly with an onsite storage capacity of 420,000 cubic meters. Pieridae is negotiating with international energy utilities for the gas. Pieridae expects construction to begin in 2014 with Goldboro LNG operational in late 2018.
