Serimax Welding Services Slated Off Brazil

Vallourec’s full-service welding subsidiary Serimax was commissioned by Technip to provide services for the Ubarana – UGG project operated by Petrobras, off the coast of Fortaleza in northwest Brazil.

Technip is in charge of the laying linepipe for the project. Part of the pipe was provided by Vallourec’s Brazilian mill in Barreiro Belo Horizonte.

Serimax is providing welding services aboard Technip’s Iroquois barge with four Saturnax welding stations along with maintenance and production personnel. The scope of work includes the welding of 39.5 km of pipeline in two shallow water fields, with 19 km of internally coated 12-inch pipe being laid in the Ubarana field and 19-km of 20-inch pipe in the UGG field.
