Medallion Pipeline Launches Binding Open Season
Medallion Pipeline announced a binding open season through May 11 for firm transportation capacity on the fifth major expansion of the company’s existing crude oil pipeline system.
The expansion project is expected to begin full commercial operations in the third quarter, although certain segments of the begin service on an interim basis earlier.
When completed the expansion, along with two other Medallion projects that completed successful preceding open seasons in February, will consist of 380 miles of pipeline facilities in the Midland, TX area, moving crude to market via multiple routes:
- The Martin Lateral is a proposed 25,000 bpd crude oil pipeline that will aggregate crude oil from various points of origin in Martin County, TX, extending southeasterly to the new Midland Hub.
- The Midland Lateral is a proposed bidirectional crude oil pipeline that will start at the Martin Lateral interconnection at the Midland Hub, extending southeasterly to the existing Garden City Station, where it will interconnect with Medallion’s existing Wolfcamp Connector mainline, the Reagan Gathering Extension and the Midkiff Lateral, as expanded and extended. As proposed the lateral will be capable of transporting 25,000 bpd from the hub to the Garden City Station and 90,000 bpd from the Garden City Station to the Midland Hub.
