The Gas Processors Association has changed its name to GPA Midstream Association. The association has about 100 corporate members of all sizes. The GPA corporate office is located in Tulsa, OK.
Wolverine Pipe Line Company was recognized for safety and environmental performance by the American Petroleum Institute (API). This is API’s highest safety and environmental performance award for pipeline operators and was presented to Wolverine at API’s 67th annual pipeline conference in Carlsbad, CA.
The American Gas Association (AGA) recognized PECO as a 2015 Industry Leader in Accident Prevention for the company’s premier safety performance. “The safety of our employees and our customers always comes first,” said Ron Bradley, vice president of PECO Gas Operations. “This award is a testament to PECO’s unwavering commitment to safety and exemplifies the hard work and dedication of our employees to keep safety at the forefront of everything we do.”
Bradley also serves as the chairman of the AGA Operations Section and was recognized with the Silver Award of Merit and the Gild of Ancient Supplers Award, for his ongoing involvement and support of natural gas industry initiatives.
Bob MacDonald, CEO of Wood Group Kenny, was elected to the council of the Society of Underwater Technology (SUT) where he will help promote understanding of the underwater environment.
Texas Alliance of Energy Producers’ Board of Directors met in Wichita Falls and approved several resolutions reinforcing its mission to support and advocate on behalf of the Texas oil and gas industry, specifically independent producers.
Personnel Changes
Southwest Gas Corp. appointed Paul M. Daily as CEO of its Centuri Construction Group, Inc. He will lead Centuri in partnering with North American natural gas utilities as it increases investments in critical infrastructure upgrades.
Robert (Bob) Frenzel became executive vice president and CFO of Xcel Energy Inc., replacing Teresa Madden, who has retired.
CH2M expanded its U.S. pipeline and facilities engineering team with the addition of KC Yost to lead this new group. Yost is a licensed professional engineer in 29 states and is recognized as a pipeline and facilities technical authority and expert regarding the design and construction of pipelines.
IMI Precision Engineering named Ryan Schroeder as president of the America’s region, replacing Robert Guerra who left to pursue other interests.
Genesis RTS® added members to its senior leadership team: Director of Product Development Barry Schneider, Director of Quality and Integration Nathan Zenero and Business Development Strategic Advisor Yarko “J.J.” Sos.
InterMoor, an Acteon company, appointed Folabi Bolatiwa general manager in Nigeria.
GeoEngineers, Inc. hired Wendy Vit as environmental engineer for its Environmental Services Group in the Springfield, MO office.
Hill International expanded its board of directors from eight to nine members by adding Craig Martin, retired president and CEO of Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.
Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd., an Acteon company, expanded its Houston team hiring Bob Terrell as regional manager. Andrew Blaquiere moved from the Acteon group to Aquatic as proposals and project engineer.
Chairman Ronald W. Jibson will retire from the board of Questar Corp., effective following completion of its merger with Dominion. Jibson also serves as president and CEO of the Salt Lake City-based integrated energy company, which announced Feb. 1 that it will combine with Virginia-based Dominion. The transaction is expected to be completed later this year.

Tecvalco Ltd. purchased key assets from manufacturing company Grit Industries Inc. The CWT heater and the Grit-55 Secondary Containment are the two primary assets acquired. Tecvalco negotiated access to all equipment and facilities required to manufacture those two lines, effectively moving the distribution company into manufacturing. The company purchased the rights to manufacture several other products marketed to the energy industry.
“This was a critical strategic move on Tecvalco’s part,” said President Mike Menger. “Our distribution infrastructure is a perfect fit for the manufacturing capabilities of Grit. The opportunity here is incredible.”
Ditch Witch®, a Charles Machine Works Company, welcomed over 300 customers and dealers to its headquarters in Perry, OK on March 29-30. The Orange Iron Experience allowed customers to tour the 30-acre site, demo the newest equipment and meet those responsible for designing, engineering and building the equipment.
KS Energy Services, LLC was recognized as a 2016 Top 10 Business of the Year in Wisconsin. The Waukesha County Business Alliance, in partnership with media sponsor BizTimes Media, acknowledges companies headquartered in southeastern Wisconsin for showing consistent financial growth and demonstrating a commitment to good business practices through employee relations, customer-focused commitment and community service involvement.

Columbia Midstream Group, a unit of Columbia Pipeline Group, earned the award for Excellence in Health and Safety – Operational at the Northeast Oil and Gas Awards. The honors recognize the outstanding achievements made within the upstream and midstream sectors of the oil and gas industry in the Northeast. Columbia Midstream won the Northeast Oil and Gas Award’s Midstream Company of the Year Award in 2014 and 2015.
Doosan and Bobcat Company employees completed the first “Doosan Days of Community Service” – a volunteer effort that celebrates ongoing partnerships with communities in North America and around the globe where Bobcat and Doosan do business. A second service day will take place in June.
Intermountain Drilling Supply added a branch office in Syracuse, UT to serve the horizontal directional drilling industry. Brad and Mike Mills joined the Intermountain Drilling Supply team at the new branch.
Onstream Pipeline Inspection opened an office in Houston and named John VanVolkinburg as general manager, USA.
Kruse Energy reported a record day at its Midland, TX auction, selling over $25.8 million primarily in frack equipment. About570 people registered to bid on equipment available in advance for inspection at seven different equipment yards.
Obituaries
Carl Lee (Chuck) Dalio III, 66, died March 31. Dalio had a long career in the oil and gas industry and was founder of the Pipeline Supply and Service Co., now part of PSS Companies. He leaves his wife, Shawn; his children, Katherine (Alex) Hochner, Kelly (Adam) Tepper and Leigh (Christopher) Joseph; four grandchildren; and his mother, Bettye Dalio.
James (Jim) Sweet, 65, died April 3. Sweet was working for the Pipe Line Contractors Associate Member Company, PSS Companies, and was formerly employed by Great Plains, Gregory & Cook and Western Suppliers Inc. He leaves his wife, Lisa; his sons, Chad (Tiffany) and Jamie; his daughters, Trina (David) and Madison; and 10 grandchildren.
