Senstar introduced the FiberPatrol FP7000 fiber-optic pipeline integrity monitoring system for both gas and liquid-carrying pipelines. It can also be used for fence-mounted intrusion detection.
The combined patented distributed differential temperature Sensing (DDTS) and distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) technologies detect and locate small leaks faster and more accurately than traditional flow and pressure-monitoring solutions, the company said.
FP7000’s DDTS technology can continuously monitor temperature along the entire length of the sensor and can detect changes in temperature and temperature rate as low as 0.0005 degrees C and 0.001 degrees C/min, respectively. In addition, the DAS technology detects minute acoustic signals emanating from a leak.
