Occidental Petroleum Corporation announced the election of former Schlumberger Ltd. CEO Andrew Gould to its board of directors. His industry experience over more than four decades includes titles as chairman and CEO of Schlumberger from 2003 to 2011 and nonexecutive chairman of BG Group from 2012 to 2016. He also currently serves as a director at Saudi Aramco and BJ Services.
Emerson announced two promotions within its Professional Tools business: Justin King has been named vice president of Engineering and Rob Trefz, vice president of Marketing. The moves mark the company’s continuing commitment to creating synergies between the RIDGID and Greenlee brands. King has worked with Greenlee since 2007, most recently as director of Engineering and Innovation in its Professional Tools business. Trefz joined Emerson in 2004 and most recently held the position of vice president of Marketing for Greenlee.
Errol Olivier joined RigNet as senior vice president and chief operating officer, with responsibility for all customer-facing functions, including Sales, Sales Engineering, Service Delivery, Bids and Proposals, and the company’s Global Network Operations Centers.
Phoenix International Holdings announced Matthew Long has been promoted to corporate vice president, assuming responsibilities for companywide financial forecasting, reporting and budgeting while retaining current duties as corporate VP and general manager of Phoenix’s Largo, Maryland, operations.
Chaparral Energy has appointed Charles Duginski as president and chief executive officer, succeeding K. Earl Reynolds. Duginski is also joining Chaparral’s board of directors, as are Michael Kuharski and Mark McFarland. Matthew Cabell is stepping down from the Board.
Colonial Pipeline announced that Wes Dunbar has been named vice president of Operations, with responsibility for all Colonial Pipeline operations activity. Dunbar previously served as vice president, Natural Gas Pipelines Operations at ONEOK, where he was responsible for both interstate and intrastate pipeline operations.
EnerMech has named Sandeep Sharma as chief financial officer. Sharma is former CFO of Stork and previously served as Finance director at Bombardier Transportation. He joins newly appointed CEO Chris Brown at EnerMech, which is gearing up for expansion following acquisition by The Carlyle Group.
Laredo Petroleum appointed Craig Jarchow as an independent member of its board of directors. Jarchow is president and CEO of Castleton Resources.
Blackbuck Resources, which designs and builds water infrastructure for the oil and gas industry has expanded its executive team with the addition of Barry Portman as chief operating officer and Jamie Liang as chief financial officer. Portman previously served as vice president, Production Operations and Permian general manager at Pioneer Natural Resources. Liang was a managing partner of private equity firm Battlecat Energy Partners.
Continental Resources Founder and CEO Harold Hamm will become executive chairman of the company. William Berry has been appointed CEO and President Jack Stark will assume the additional role of chief operating officer.
Hunton Andrews Kurth announced the expansion of its international oil and gas practice with the addition of David Pang as a partner in the law firm’s Dubai office. Pang focuses on corporate transactions and commercial matters.
Pure Acquisition Corp., a special-purpose acquisition company focused on oil and gas exploration and production, announced that it has named Michael L. Hollis as president. Hollis most recently worked for Diamondback Energy, a Permian-focused oil and gas producer, where he served as president and chief operating officer.
NiSource Inc. has hired Nick Stavropoulos to head up its safety efforts at Columbia Gas of Massachusetts, following the September 2018 Merrimack Valley incident, in which excessive pressure caused a series of natural gas explosions near Boston. Stavropoulos will report directly to NiSource President and CEO Joe Hamrock. Stavropoulos joined Pacific Gas & Electric in 2011 and led the recovery efforts following its 2010 explosion in San Bruno, CA.
