Offshore Technology Conference Names New Executive Director
Leigh Ann Runyan, CMP, will take over as executive director of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in mid-April. She replaces Stephen Graham, who is retiring. Runyan has extensive experience managing OTC and other large events.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference has been rescheduled for Aug. 16-19, 2021, at NRG Park in Houston.
“I know that I am leaving OTC in very capable hands,” said Graham. “Leigh Ann has the background and experience to work with the OTC Board to steer this vital event through current challenges to an even brighter future.”
Runyan will continue in her role as director, Americas Events for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), where she manages a large event portfolio across Canada, the U.S., and Latin America.
Prior to joining SPE, she was with the American Heart Association (AHA) for 21 years. Her last position before leaving AHA was vice president, Meetings. Her primary responsibility as vice president was the overall management of the department’s 250-plus annual meetings.
Runyan graduated from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor’s degree in finance and later received a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV). She also holds a master’s degree in hospitality administration from UNLV. She is a certified meeting professional (CMP) and a member of the Professional Convention Management Association.
