El Paso Natural Gas Files South Mainline Application

El Paso Natural Gas (EPNG), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kinder Morgan, has submitted an application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) seeking authorization to construct and operate the $127.9 million South Mainline Expansion Project, which would expand capacity on the company's Line Nos. 1100 and 1103 by 321,000 Dth/d in Hudspeth and El Paso counties in Texas to serve markets in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California and Mexico.

The project, which is expected to be placed in service by July 1, 2020, includes the construction of approximately 17 miles of 30-inch pipeline loop on the existing lines and 13,220 hp turbine-driven compressor stations in Luna County, N.M., and Cochise County, Ariz.
