New Energy Tanker Berths at Russia's Arctic LNG 2 Despite U.S. Sanctions

(Reuters) — The liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker New Energy, which is the subject of U.S. sanctions, has berthed at the Arctic LNG 2 plant in Russia, ship-tracking LSEG data showed on Wednesday.
The plant, which was planned to be Russia's largest, started producing LNG in December but exports have been hindered by Western sanctions over Russia's actions in Ukraine.
The Palau-flagged, UAE-owned and Indian-managed New Energy tanker also engaged in a ship-to-ship transfer of a cargo from Arctic LNG 2 in August.
