INGAA Foundation To Update 2035 Outlook At Pipeline Opportunities Conference
HOUSTON, TX, Feb. 25, 2014…The INGAA Foundation will present an important new study on pipeline investment and the economic impact of that investment on March 25 at the Pipeline Opportunities Conference in Houston. The study will update investment projections for natural gas, natural gas liquid and oil midstream investment through 2035, and it provides data on the economic impacts, including jobs impacts, of that projected investment.
The INGAA Foundation has been issuing periodic reports on infrastructure investment projections since 1999. These reports serve as a virtual blueprint for the natural gas industry. Because of the dynamic changes that are occurring as the shale revolution progresses, the Foundation decided to update the study ahead of its usual three- to four-year schedule. Details of the study will be discussed by INGAA and INGAA Foundation President and CEO Don Santa and Foundation Chairman Craig Meier.
The assessment of midstream natural gas infrastructure needs through 2035 includes an extensive update of natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGL) and oil production trends based on projections of drilling activity, the recoverable resource base and prevailing market conditions. The study is critical for the natural gas and pipeline industries because much of the upstream development is located in unconventional supply regions that require new infrastructure to link producers and consumers.
The Pipeline Opportunities Conference will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. The one-day event is sponsored by Pipeline & Gas Journal along with the INGAA Foundation and INGAA (Interstate Natural Gas Association of America). The Foundation is comprised of service-related companies that work with North America’s large-transmission natural gas pipelines.
The conference will also include a special panel presentation by the Maguire Energy Institute of SMU’s Cox Business School that will include an update on the shale plays, an economic forecast for Texas and the Southwest, a review of energy sector performance and release of the institute’s latest energy industry research. Charles Nevle, manager of Energy Analysis for BENTEK Energy, is the keynote speaker and will discuss “The Energy Revolution: Now That We Believe It, Is It Sustainable?”
A contractors’ roundtable featuring some of the most prominent names and companies in the pipeline construction industry will discuss the opportunities and challenges facing builders today. Mark Bridgers, Principal of Continuum Advisory Group, will follow with a report on “A Post-Shale Oil/Gas U.S.-Preparing For The Next Pipeline Construction Wave.”
INGAA’s Santa will provide the latest information on political and policy developments in Washington, DC and their likely effect on the pipeline business. In an effort to help improve construction performances, consultant Carly Voigt will discuss “Practical Tools To Achieve A Higher Level Of Performance” and Hunton & Williams attorneys Catherine Little and Robert Hogfuss will provide timely information on new federal regulations and their effect on pipeline issues such as integrity management, environment, and infrastructure expansion.
Details on the conference can be found at pipelineopportunities.com or by contacting Jeff Share, conference chairman at jshare@oildom.com and Karen Francis, convention director at kfrancis@oildom.com. Early registration is encouraged as previous conferences have sold out.
