Two South Texas Pipelines To Handle Eagle Ford Shale Production
Energy Transfer Partners has entered into multiple long-term agreements with shippers to provide transportation services from the prolific Eagle Ford Shale located in South Texas.
ETP will build two natural gas pipelines which will serve as expansions to the Partnership’s extensive midstream infrastructure in the region.
The recently completed 50-mile, 24-inch Dos Hermanas Pipeline will have capacity of 400 MMcf/d. The pipeline originates in northwest Webb County, TX and extends to the Partnership’s existing Houston Pipeline rich gas gathering system in eastern Webb County. As part of the project, 6,000 horsepower of compression will be added to the Houston Pipeline system.
The initial phase of the other line, Chisholm, will consist of 83 miles of 20-inch pipeline extending from DeWitt County to the Partnership’s LaGrange Processing Plant in Fayette County. The pipeline will have an initial capacity of 100 MMcf/d, with anticipated capacity expansion exceeding 300 MMcf/d. The project will use existing processing capacity at ETP’s LaGrange plant. After processing, the residue volumes will be transported on the Partnership’s Oasis Gas Pipeline. This phase of the pipeline is expected to be in service by the second quarter.
These combined systems (Dos Mermanas and Chisholm Pipeline) will consist of more than 130 miles of 20- and 24-inch pipe capable of transporting up to 700 MMcf/d of natural gas.
