NGT&Ss Midstream Services Announce Major Investment In Ohio Utica Shale

NiSource Gas Transmission and Storage’s Midstream Services announced a major midstream initiative in the Utica play in eastern Ohio.

The project includes the construction of an 90-mile, large-diameter gathering system using Columbia Gas Transmission’s existing right-of-way along its north/south-running V-100 and V-138 systems, extending through Columbiana, Carroll, Jefferson, Harrison, Belmont and Monroe counties. The system will provide for both wet and dry gas gathering.

In conjunction with the gathering project, NGT&S purchased a 200 MMcf/d cryogenic natural gas liquids processing plant that will be completed in July. The plant and related facilities will be located at a midpoint on the wet section of the gathering system in Harrison County and will process liquids-rich gas flowing from both the north and south.
NGT&S will also construct a dry gas line originating from the tailgate of the processing plant that will gather additional dry gas produced in the Utica trend. The system will ultimately deliver gas to multiple interconnects including Texas Eastern (Spectra), Rocky Mountain Express (Kinder Morgan) and Columbia Gas.

The project is expected to provide an initial transportation and processing capacity of 200 MMcf/d with significant expansion capabilities.
