Technip Awarded FEED For U.S. LNG Liquefaction Project

Trunkline LNG Export, LLC has awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract to Technip for potential expansion of the LNG import terminal in Lake Charles, LA.

The potential expansion includes an LNG liquefaction plant with a total export capacity of up to 15 million tons per annum (mtpa), so that a portion of additional supplies of natural gas produced from shale fields across the U.S. can be exported to international markets. The total liquefaction capacity could be achieved through up to three trains with associated utilities and offsite facilities as well as the re-use of the existing LNG offloading, storage and marine facilities. Air Products will supply its C3MR liquefaction process technology for the study.

Technip’s operating center in Houston will execute the contract. It is scheduled for completion by mid-2014.
