Fluor Corporation was selected by a division of Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) to execute the engineering and procurement scope for MPC’s South Texas Asset Repositioning (STAR) program at its Galveston Bay refinery in Texas City, Texas. Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value into backlog in the first quarter of 2018.

Subsea oil and gas cable and connection specialist Hydro Group won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade. The honor acknowledges exceptional businesses across the U.K., celebrating the country’s entrepreneurs and innovative minds.

Exxon Mobil will become the first founding member of the new Stanford Strategic Energy Alliance, an initiative that will examine ways to improve energy access, security and technology while reducing effects on the environment. As part of its commitment, ExxonMobil will contribute $20 million in funding over five years to research and develop lower-carbon energy solutions.

Ashcroft opened a dedicated ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory, certifie by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB), and available with pressure measurement instruments up to 12,000 psi. The laboratory provides NIST traceable calibration from certified technicians and calibration equipment.

Bravo Target Safety, a provider of industrial emergency response and safety services, entered into a partnership with Blackline Safety to leverage the safety and connectivity of Blackline’s G7c emergency response management, cloud-hosted safety portal and business analytics software.

Colonial Pipeline Company signed a definitive agreement to purchase Northstar Port Arthur. The agreement gives Colonial marine terminal operations and assets, including dedicated rights to a refined product dock at the Port of Port Arthur, Texas, and a long-term volume agreement with a local major refinery.

Enterprise Products Partners announced its 416-mile Midland-to-Sealy pipeline went into full service with an expanded capacity of 540,000 bpd and capable of transporting batched grades of crude oil and condensate. With the completion of incremental tankage, as well as infrastructure and operating enhancements, the pipeline has an expected capacity of 575,000 bpd and is fully subscribed under long-term contracts.

EQT Midstream Partners will acquire Gulfport’s 25% equity interest in Strike Force Midstream for $175 million in an all cash transaction. Strike Force, a joint venture between Gulfport and EQT Corporation, consists of natural gas gathering assets to support dry gas Utica Shale development in Belmont and Monroe counties, Ohio. The system gathered 900 MMcf/d of volume during the first quarter.

Continental Resources executed a firm transportation agreement on Enable Midstream Partners’ Project Wildcat. Project Wildcat will provide Continental Resources 400 MMcf/d of additional takeaway capacity from its properties in the SCOOP and STACK plays in Oklahoma.

Enterprise Products Partners began commercial operations at the company’s new cryogenic natural gas processing facility in Reeves County, Texas. The Orla 1 plant can process 300 MMcf/d of natural gas and extract more than 40,000 bpd of natural gas liquids.

Great Salt Plains Midstream Holdings closed on its acquisition of Thunderbird Midstream. Both firms have headquarters in Oklahoma City. The acquired assets include the Thunderbird Midstream cryogenic natural gas plant with 20 MMcf/d processing capacity. The plant began operations in 2016 and is located on more than 40 acres to allow for expansion. The transaction includes a 34 mile natural gas pipeline gathering system.

Pipeline and welding equipment manufacturer Sawyer Mfg. was honored with the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting at the 2018 Oklahoma World Trade Conference held recently in Tulsa. The honor is bestowed each year to an Oklahoma company for achievements in exporting through increasing export sales, breaking through in a particular competitive market, introducing a new product into export trade, or responding to a foreign market challenge.

Downhole technology specialist Well-Sense took the Intervention Technology Award from the Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) for its pioneering FiberLine Intervention (FLI) Technology. The honor recognizes outstanding technical innovation or application of well intervention technology that reduces risk or increases production.

ABB will provide automation and safety systems to Statoil’s new Johan Castberg oil field development project in Norway. Located in the Barents Sea, north of the Arctic Circle, the new field will be developed with a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) production vessel and subsea installation with 30 wells. The new field has proven volumes estimated at 400-600 MMbpd of oil.

Bridge Energy Group’s Continuous Compliance resource has been named by Info Security Products Guide as a Gold-winner of the 2018 Global Excellence Awards in the New Products and Services category. The managed service enables utilities to focus on securing a broader set of transmission and distribution operations, and assets from evolving threats to the grid by reduces resource loading.

Welding technology supplier Airgas, Inc., acquired the assets and operations of Weiler Welding Company, which marked the 500th acquisition in Airgas’ 36-year history. Weiler is a full-service industrial gas, beverage gas and welding supply business., headquartered in Moraine, Ohio.
