First Subsea to Supply Pipeline Recovery Tool for Gulf of Mexico Pipeline

First Subsea PRT for Sur de Texas-Tuxpan pipeline.
First Subsea has received a contract from Allseas Group to provide a 42” Ballgrab Pipeline Recovery Tool for the Sur de Texas-Tuxpan pipeline project. The Sur de Texas-Tuxpan pipeline is a 435-mile subsea gas pipeline that will interconnect with the Nueces-Brownsville pipeline and the Tuxpan-Tula pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico.
The PRT is designed and built in a modular manner, accommodating different pipe specifications as well as permitting various pigging, dewatering and sealing scenarios. Ballgrab PRT’s were first utilized in 1994 and have been supplied for more than 125 major projects worldwide.
