G2-IS Awarded Contract to Execute NorthWestern Energy’s MAOP Validation Project

NorthWestern Energy has selected G2 Integrated Solutions (G2-IS) as its trusted partner to further its program to comply with a major component of the Department of Transportation’s Pipeline Safety regulations.

“NorthWestern is committed to exceptional service that our customers and communities count on – safely, efficiently, and responsibly,” said Marc Mullowney, Director, Gas Transmission and Storage at NorthWestern Energy. “And while we’ve worked with G2-IS on GIS implementation projects, we’re excited to leverage their industry experience on MAOP Validation projects to tackle this most important initiative.”

G2-IS will compile paper and digital records into a readily accessible document structure, providing NorthWestern Energy with improved pipeline records availability to support not just compliance but other corporate business processes. Records will then be mined for the data necessary to confirm Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure for the pipeline and assimilate the findings into NorthWestern Energy’s enterprise Geographic Information System database for long-term data maintenance. Using G2’s EaglePy software, G2-IS will configure NorthWestern Energy’s GIS database to improve data accessibility via intuitive, user-centered design of industry pipeline data reporting.

In addition to MAOP validation services, G2-IS will deploy an Enhanced Pipeline Risk Assessment that will enable improved visualization risk assessment results to further support optimization of real-time pipeline integrity decision-making at NorthWestern Energy.

“Our team is committed to helping pipeline operators leverage MAOP validation activities to create more-efficient and effective pipeline risk management solutions that provide valuable operational intelligence and decision support,” said David Corbett, G2’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our focus is on enabling Operator’s own staff to spend more time managing pipeline integrity business processes rather than on administrative pipeline data management functions, and we are very pleased to be able to extend our successful prior GIS focused relationship with NWE into this additional element of our services portfolio.”
