FERC Approves Kinder Morgan Acadiana Expansion Project

(P&GJ) — The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved Kinder Morgan Louisiana Pipeline’s Acadiana Project.
KMLP filed the application for the expansion project in June 2019.
The company asked approval to build three new compressor stations to add nearly 1 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) of capacity to the pipeline which carries natural gas from Northern Louisiana to Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG export plant on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Cheniere is currently adding a sixth liquefaction train to the facility which is expected to come online in the second half of 2022.
Kinder Morgan expects the Acadiana expansion project to cost about $143 million and to enter service by the second quarter of 2022.
