Max Midstream Launches Open Season on Seahawk Pipeline

Seahawk Pipeline wants to gauge shipper interest in its new crude oil pipeline in Texas, the company announced.
Seahawk Pipeline, a subsidiary of Max Midstream, is developing the crude oil pipeline in the Eagle Ford area from its Edna Terminal to the Seahawk Terminal in the Port of Calhoun, Texas. The subsidiary is conducting an open season to gauge shipper interest in committed service.
Through the open season, shippers can support the Seahawk Pipeline project by making volume commitments and becoming “committed shippers” for their term of their transportation service agreements, according to the company.

The pipeline is expected to begin service in the second quarter of this year, according to the open season notice. It will have capacity of 100,000 barrels per day, the notice states.
There is an expected initial storage capacity at Edna Terminal of 750,000 barrels of working capacity expected in the first quarter of this year, according to the notice, and an expected initial storage capacity of 620,000 barrels at the Port of Calhoun also in the first quarter of 2021.
Full initial capacity is expected to be available in the first half of 2021, and initial interim service may be offered earlier, the notice states.
